Previously delivered as a customization, Map Themes lets organizations configure different views of network data around specific workflows or information needs. Rather than presenting every available layer at once, teams can make it easier for field users to focus on the information that matters for the work in front of them.
Organizations already using Map Themes can carry their existing setup forward, making the transition to 5.6 seamless.
Where Am I connects a field user’s current location with external map and street-view experiences, with configuration options for Google Maps or Apple Maps. This gives crews another way to orient themselves, understand the area around an asset, and connect network information with what they are seeing in the field.
Like Map Themes, Where Am I was previously delivered as custom functionality. Bringing it into the product makes the capability available through a more consistent configuration and upgrade path.
Several usability enhancements in Utilities 5.6 are focused on making common interactions more intuitive and efficient.
3-GIS | MIMS now includes a compass rose that lets users quickly return a rotated map to north orientation, whether the map was manually rotated or changed orientation while GPS and follow-me functionality were active.
This and other enhancements remove small points of friction from workflows field teams perform throughout the day and make it easier to get to the information they need.
3-GIS | Productivity 5.6 focuses on making existing workflows more predictable and addressing friction across several frequently used areas of the application.
For organizations upgrading from an earlier 5.x release, 5.6 is cumulative, bringing forward capabilities introduced in recent releases as well. These include Abandon Tools for moving retired network features into configured abandon feature classes, expanded Error Analysis for reviewing attribute validation errors, and the Attribute Propagation plugin for extending configured attribute values across the network.
Utilities 5.6 also keeps the utilities product suite aligned with current Esri environments.
3-GIS | MIMS 5.6 supports Esri Network Management 12.1, ArcGIS Pro 3.7, and ArcGIS Enterprise 11.5 or 12.1, along with updates supporting current mobile environments.
3-GIS | Productivity 5.6 likewise supports the latest Esri Network Management environment, giving organizations a supported path forward as they update the technology underlying their Utility Network operations.
Utilities 5.6 brings together new capabilities, workflow refinements, and platform updates designed to make the products easier to use and maintain as utility environments continue to evolve.
